My name is Shikha. I work in the textile department at Basha Enterprises. My husband left me with two children. I cooked for some young men at a hostel but that did not bring enough income for my family. I had to look for other work. I did not know what to do. At that moment, a CUP staff brought me to CUP from the street. I don’t know where my life would be if I had not been brought here. I give many thanks to God that he has given me a chance to be here. I have learned many things at CUP. I learned tailoring, sewing blankets, jewelry making and more. I also have had an opportunity to work at Basha Enterprises and at the same time, I can keep my children in daycare safely. I pray that God will help me to be honest in my work. God has given me all potential to earn for my family. I will never leave my work. I am willing to work hard to provide for my children. I want to fulfill my duty toward my children, even my husband, although he is not faithful in his role.
