I am Rokeya Begum and I am  39 years old. I am married.  I never went to school. My in-laws were fairly well off but my husband just sold everything we had because he was lazy and didn’t want to work. Whenever I mentioned working myself, my husband would just beat me and leave the house for three or four days. I have one son and one daughter who are now married and never went to school. My son is driving an easy bike which is a local form of public transportation. Now I am working with Basha and earning money which my in-laws don’t approve of. But I am so happy that I am earning and supporting my family and I can buy things with my own money.
