My name is Lija. My mother died when I was very young. My father married again. He  arranged my marriage when I was twelve years old. My husband was not a good man. Therefore, my father brought me back from my husband’s house but my daughter had to stay with my husband. Two years later, I married again. This husband was the same- he did not take care of me. He was drug addicted. Often police arrested him for addiction and I’d have to pay money for his release. My family suffered so much.Once I came to know about Children Uplift Program (CUP) through one of my neighbors and joined the training programme. My behavior has changed since I have joined CUP. Now I do not quarrel with my husband. My husband is now taking good care of my family. After completing CUP’s training, I have joined Basha Enterprises. Here my children are in daycare while I work. I don’t have to worry about them, I know they are safe. I was able to buy a piece of land. I hope in future I will buy some more land and build my own house in my village. I pray to God that He will help me to fulfill my dream.
