We often talk about skill, income, and independenc We often talk about skill, income, and independence. But this week, we talked about daughters. One artisan shared something that stayed with us: "I want to educate my daughter so she can have a much better life and not make the mistakes I made." It wasn’t regret. It was hope. Hope stitched into every piece she makes. Hope earned through her own hard work. Hope for a future that looks different. In class, I asked them to draw the dreams they’ve In class, I asked them to draw the dreams they’ve always carried in their hearts. Not what feels realistic. Not what seems possible right now. Just what they’ve always wanted for themselves. They drew big. And then we talked about something important, that dreams don’t have an expiry date. There is no timeline you must follow. No age where it’s “too late.” No matter what life looks like today, their future is still unwritten. Thank you for helping us create spaces where girls are reminded that their dreams are still valid, and still possible.

I think many Basha kantha enthusiasts know that kantha and coffee go together well. Basha products are available at six of North End's locations. language is so important. Did you know that most o language is so important. Did you know that most of our artisans were illiterate in their mother tongue when they first joined us? At Basha, literacy is a priority and we make sure artisans can sign their creations with pride. We also provide ongoing literacy training as part of the work day. And today we celebrate International Mother Language Day. We remember the students who gave their lives to protect the Bangla language from being replaced with Urdu in 1952.
